The Grand Canyon

Wow what an amazing view right? I wish I was thinking that when we were standing at the top of the Grand Canyon. I was just a NERVOUS wreck. With three little kids of my own plus all the cousins around it was nerve wrecking. Especially since our tour guide kept telling us repeatedly to watch our children closely. The way he kept saying it, I knew someone must have fallen to their death recently. Sure enough once we got back onto the bus he told us that someone had died a couple weeks prior. The young man slipped in the icy snow and fell to his death. So even though I was not able to enjoy it as much as I would have liked to, it was still an amazing sight to see. Next time I will be taking a rope to tie around each child and then to me.

Thanks to Steves Grandma Honey we were able to go on this amazing trip. She took about seventy-five of us in all to Williams Arizona. It was cold and stormy when we were there. We arrived on Friday and had jam packed fun. Saturday morning we rode on the Grand Canyon Railway for about two and half hours till we reached the Grand Canyon. When we arrived there we had tour buses waiting for our group where we nervously enjoyed the amazing views of the Grand Canyon. We then returned back to the train for the ride back to Williams. The kids loved riding the train. Makenzie just kept looking out the window for wildlife. She loved seeing the different animal tracks in the snow. Once we returned to Williams there wasn't much time till our next adventure. We got to ride on the Polar Express that evening. Honey had pajamas made for her and all the Great grand-children. They loved it, even though they were extremly beat by that point. Ryan fell asleep, but we woke him once Santa arrived. It was an adventure we will never forget. The ride home was a little scary because of the weather conditions. The roads were icy. But the ride home for us was better than the ride there. My two girls get car sick. On the way there Marissa bagan to act funny, and I knew what that meant . Thank goodness we had a cup in the car, she managed to keep it ALL in the cup. Pretty good for a two year old. Here are some of the pictures from that weekened. And as always there is Steve in his APM clothes. Seriously Steve can you wear something different? If he said it was for advertisment purposes I would be O.K. with it, but he just had more shirts made and he didn't put the company phone number or anything to advertise the company on them. Just the company name.

That is gorgeous! I too would be a nervous wreck! It is hard to relax when you have little kids and you are around something that steep! We are going in May!
